All surgical procedures are performed under local anaesthesia and are completely painless. Only extraction wounds may be painful after a procedure. The patient always receives appropriate instructions for the period following extraction of a tooth; e.g. immediately after the procedure, the extraction wound has to be cooled. Any missing tooth, with the exception of wisdom teeth, has to be replaced with a prosthetic substitute in order to avoid later complications.
